Recycled cards

Hey yall. Hope this week has been good to you. My week has been busy as usual. I've got a few cards to show you. One of my co-workers and her mom both had almost every card they had ever received. They have been going through them and giving me the card fronts. I really wish on these I had taken before pictures of the card before I used a piece of it to make a new card. To thank them for giving them to me, I gave them these 3 cards.

This first card features a beautiful teacup picture. I really love the colors on this one.

On this second card, I embossed the green layer with the writing cuttlebug embossing folder before mounting on the navy card to accentuate the writing in the background of the image.

This third card was so easy--I just cut out the gift bag image and adhered it to yellow cardstock allowing the "tissue paper" to stick up over the top.

I hope yall enjoy these. You should really try this sometime!

New Upsy Daisy set

Happy Monday to everyone! Here are some cards I made this weekend with my new Upsy Daisy set from Stampin' Up. I am LOVING this set! It is so beautiful and so easy to use.

This first card is very simple -- just black ink on purple cardstock (my new cardstock from the Bold Brights color family). I think I'm gonna make several basic cards like this to keep in my stash for when I need a card but don't have time to make one.

This second card is on black cardstock. I stamped the flowers with black on a scrap of paper, then matted it on a solid piece. I stamped the sentiment (Thank you...for your friendship) on a smaller piece of the same solid. I used a square punch to make the points on the right side of it. I finished it off with 3 purplish dew drops. If anyone is considering getting this set, I highly recommend you do so.

From Courtney's Closet Challenge #20

Ok. So I thought Libby's challenge would be easy this week. After all, Courtney was wearing a cute little purple onsie with a cupcake on it. How hard could that be? Well, I have 2 submissions this week, but I'm really not that thrilled with either one. I refuse to try for a 3rd in case I don't like that one either.

It's not that there is anything wrong with either of these, they just didn't turn out the way I envisioned. Be sure to go to Libby's site this week and check out the other submissions for this challenge.

Now here's a picture of my cutie pies. Jason and I pick up new jammies for them this weekend. Anthony got Scooby-Doo and Joey got Mario.

I hope yall are all having a great Monday.

SBS 24 Challenge #4

Good morning everyone. Here's my card for this week's SBS 24 challenge. I struggled with what paper to use for a while, but I am very pleased with how it turned out. The totally awesome thing is that I used paper scraps, not whole sheets of paper!

A few details for those of you interested--The background was embossed with a cuttlebug folder. The green long strip (yeah, that's green) was also embossed with the same folder, but I flattened out the embossing a little so it wouldn't be too much. The "thanks" is embossed with copper. Although they are hard to see, there are five clear dew drops on the right side of the card. I also put a clear dew drop in the middle of the blue flower and also put crystal lacquer on the blue flower. I hope yall enjoy!

Candy Corn

Hey yall. I have had a wonderful weekend so far. I feel bad saying that since the kids aren't here, but Jason and I kinda needed some down time. We went to dinner last night, went shopping (for the kids), slept in this morning, did some more shopping, and now are watching the LSU game. My boys are gonna be Mario and Luigi for Halloween so we've been shopping for what we need to make their costumes. I have also made some cards this weekend. Tonight I'm gonna show yall my Candy Corn card. The face didn't turn out how I envisioned it, but that's okay.

I've got my card made for this week's SBS-24 challenge, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see that one. I hope yall have a good evening. Go LSU!

More fall cards

Hey yall. Thought I'd catch up my blog a little since the kiddos are gone for the weekend. I'm sure I'll be missing them like crazy by Sunday when they come back, but right now I'm feeling quite relaxed. I'm just gonna post these cards, so if you have any questions just ask.

I know the pictures are blurry, but I still haven't figured out the best way to take pictures of cards. By the way, can someone tell me how to schedule a post with blogspot? I haven't been able to figure that one out yet. I'm gonna try to go make a card, although I may have forgotten how since it's been so long!

SBS24 Challenge 3

Here's one of my fall cards for this week. I haven't yet participated in last week's challenge, which is to make anything but a card. This card was made with my new PaperTrey Ink set called Quilter's Sampler.

There is lots of noise going on right now--Joey yelling for me to come see how much of his homework he has done, Anthony yelling because he doesn't want to take a bath, and Jason yelling because Anthony won't sit down in the tub. Needless to say, this post is gonna be short because I need to take care of some of this chaos. I hope yall are having a great week.

Busy, busy, busy!!!

Yes, I know it's been more than a week, but let me brief you on last week and maybe you'll understand.

Monday-My first Heart 2 Home meeting was wonderful! I learned a lot about the program, which is designed to teach the younger Christian women about how to be a godly woman.

Tuesday-Pokeno at Becky's house. I won first place! Before pokeno, however, I had to pick up Anthony, take him to football practice until Joey and Jason were done, then go.

Wednesday-Go straight from work to church. I teach a group of 3rd-5th grade girls.

Thursday-While Jason & Joey were at football practice, I took Anthony to buy a prize since he poo-pooed in the potty Wednesday night. The rest of the evening was spent sewing on what felt like a million starter patches on Joey's cub scout uniform.

Friday-Go to a birthday party. Leave there and go to the campground and set up the tent.

Saturday-Joey and I had a great time at the Cub Scout Mom & Me campout.

Sunday-Load up tent & come home. Rest, then go to meeting & church.

Monday-Start all over again!

Yeah, last week was a blur. Anyway, no new crafty stuff to show yall, but I have a picture of my cute little Cub Scout!
