No new projects

Hey yall. I just noticed I haven't posted anything in almost a week. I'm afraid this is gonna be another one of those weeks. I've still got to do some green card candy for a swap, but I don't think I'll have time this week. I've got Pokeno tomorrow night so that will keep me busy. Maybe this weekend I'll get something done. Joey got on yellow light at school today for talking nonstop in the cafeteria (again). He and Corey were telling Knock Knock jokes. He told them all to me. Here's my favorite.

Knock Knock
Who's there?
Who
Who Who?
When did you get an owl?

Yep, my kid is quite the entertainer. I've gotta get some stuff picked up so the house can get cleaned tomorrow. Have a good evening!

Purple Card Candy

Good evening yall. This evening I finished making my purple card candy. I haven't done the packaging yet and I still have a little piece to finish on the last one, but I'm calling it a night.
There's not much to tell on these. The purse that looks blue is done with Lovely Lilac. I debated on what color to do the flowers on the butterfly, yellow or pink. I started to call Aunt Pat to ask her, but knew she'd say yellow, so I went with that. I was talking to Jason while I was making the fairy princess one and I guess I got sidetracked because when I finished, it had way too much white space. I improvised with some doodling. Her wand has a diamond on the end, her crown has glitter, and her dress and wings have crystal lacquer. I don't like that these don't match, but I wanted to use various purples instead of concentrating on just one shade of purple. OK, the kids have been in bed over an hour now and I can still hear Anthony talking. I better turn out some lights so he'll get to sleep. I'm thinking it's already too late, though, and I'll get to entertain Mr. Grumpy Pants in the morning. Have a good night.

Magic box

Hey yall. I found a tutorial on ScrapShare that showed how to make a Magic box, so I made one. Here are some pictures.

I hope you like it! Click on the link above if you want to look at the tutorial and try it yourself.

Birthday Princess

Hey yall. Just a quick post to show yall the birthday card I made for a little princess named Macy who just turned 7.

I love this princess. She's from the clear stamps in the dollar bin at Michael's and I bought her specifically to make Macy's birthday card. I paper pieced her dress and wings. I don't usually paper piece because it's a bit tedious, but I love the way it looks. I hate to run off, but I've gotta get ready for church. I'll leave you with some pictures of the boys at Macy's party this afternoon, which was at Excalibur.

Have a good evening!

Stampendous swap

Good evening. Here are the cards I just received from the Stampendous swap I was in on SCS.

Hopefully I'll have another live post soon which I'm sure will feature pics of the kids. Until then, I hope you enjoyed seeing all these swapped cards!

Funny card

I'm back as promised with the other card from the wheel swap. This one is so cute. A wheel was used for the background. I can't remember the name of the company that makes these "flip stamps," but they have several cute ones.

The front says, "A little birdie told me it was your birthday..." You pull the sides of the card and it flips to the other side.

This side says, "So I ate him. Your secret's safe with me. Have a wonderful birthday!" Isn't that hilarious? I'll try to get proper credits on the stamp maker and the maker of this card and update yall. Hope your day is going great! I've got a Heart to Home retreat today so hopefully I'm getting some rest, relaxation, and refreshing.

Wheel card swap

Happy Friday evening to yall! This is another scheduled post since I'm sure I'll be busy with my little boys who've been gone this week. Here are the cards I received in the a card swap I was in a few weeks ago. In this swap we used our much neglected stamping wheels.

I've got one more I received in this swap that I'll share with you tomorrow. Be sure to check back!

Scripture Verse card swap

Happy Friday! Today I'm gonna share the cards I got in the SCS Scripture Verse card swap a few weeks ago. I don't know who made these because I'm not looking at them right now.

I hope these inspire you. Have a great day!

Card Candy

Good evening yall. Sorry I haven't been here this week, but I've been busy. I'm trying to catch up on some of my SCS swaps since the kiddos have been living the good life in St Francisville. Today I got my pieces done for the Blue Card Candy. I don't have them all packaged, but here's what I do have done.
I'm happy with the pieces I made. I've still got Purple & Green left to go. I'm glad I only signed up for 3 because this is quite time consuming. Some details that didn't show up in the pictures--the fairy has crystal lacquer on her wings, a diamond on her wand, and glitter on her crown. The fleur-de-lis tag is embossed. The fish has glitter on his stripes and crystal lacquer bubbles. The round tag says, "of all possessions a friend is the most precious."
I also got some happy mail today--another hand made card from Aunt Pat.
Isn't it gorgeous?! I bought some of the same paper the other day and love the bright colors. I really don't remember being this good when I started out. Anyway, I'm gonna schedule a few posts in case I disappear again. Thanks for looking!

Card Swap & SCS Technique Challenge

Good evening again. I've got some cards to show this time. The first card is one I received in the card swap where we send cards to each person in the group. This one is from Dani. I LOVE the fireflies!

The other one is from last week's SCS Technique Challenge--the flower pot card. I showed yall the one Aunt Pat made a few posts ago. Here's mine.

I did not really enjoy making this card, so I'm not thrilled with it. When I don't have fun on a card, I usually don't like it. I think it's pretty, but I fought with it. A lot. I was so aggravated by the time I finished it that I started to not take a picture of it. Anyway, I'm sure the fact that I'm tired and grumpy has nothing to do with it. I gotta help put up groceries. Good night!

Easter recap

Hey yall. I never got a chance to finish posting the kiddos' Easter pics on here. Here are the boys with their eggs.

They stayed with Jason's parents and we came home yesterday. I had to go back to work today, but Jason had the day off. I was amazed when I came home and saw what he had been doing. Here is a before picture of our front yard.
I don't have a real before picture of the part he did while I was at work, but this is the end he hasn't gotten to you. Here is the after picture of where he started.

The landscaping timbers were all rotted and eaten up with ants. The new stones look great. I'm impressed with how good the curves look. Here's another angle.

He's going back to work tomorrow, but said he'd finish this in the evenings since he didn't have kids to watch. I should probably get some dinner started. We're having pancakes tonight. We haven't had pancakes for dinner in a long time. I'm not a good cook, but this is one of the few meals I think I'm pretty good at. Before you ask, no, the pancakes aren't frozen. Hopefully I'll be on here again this evening with some craft projects I've made. I also want to share pictures of the cards I received in my SCS Stampendous card swap that came in today. Have a great evening!

Easter in St Fran

Good evening! We've had a blast in St Francisville and Fordoche today. Here are some pictures of the boys riding their bikes at Gramma & Pops house.

I tried to get them to pose for a picture on a bench, but they were not interested.

Now for the most exciting news--Aunt Pat is officially a paper crafter. I introduced her to Split Coast Stampers last night. We looked at this past week's technique challenge, which was a flower pot card. Check this out.
Isn't that amazing! What's even more amazing is that this is her 3rd card EVER! I don't even know what to say. I can't wait to get home and try making one myself. OK, people, I gotta go do some nasty mom business for the 3rd time today. C-ya!

Good Friday

Happy Good Friday everyone. We've had a pretty good day. I got to spend time with Aunt Pat again, which is always fun. Here's some pictures of the boys this morning playing with eggs. I helped Joey connect a bunch of them into a circle.

Anthony is sitting in my lap (with the laptop in his lap), so this post is taking forever! He gets so excited about the pictures and he wants to type. Joey is running around the living room playing Mario and talking to himself. I did manage to get 2 cards made this evening while they were playing outside. This first one is using the layout from one of the cards my secret sister Daisy (Mayadiz on SCS) sent me. I've been wanting to make it and finally took the time. The orange paper is from a new pack Aunt Pat and I each got last weekend.
This next card is just a quick thing I threw together with some cards one of my heart moms at church gave me. I added some of the same orange paper, a flourish from a Paper Studio clear set, and 2 gold brads. The ink is SU's apricot appeal.

It's pretty plain, but still elegant. I didn't put a sentiment on the inside because I don't want to limit what it can be used for. I'm watching Dirty Jobs right now and they're gonna be making parchment paper and vellum from goat hides in the next segment. Eeww, gross. I may have to let that one remain a mystery. Anthony's wanting a turn to "push" now, so here's his special message for yall.
ddddddddddddddddzzzzzzzpi97
OK, gotta get up now before I get aggravated with him. Have a great evening!

Good evening!

Hey everybody. Just wanted to check in and say hello while I had a sec. I got the new issue of CardMaker magazine in the mail today so I hope to have some wonderful creations to share with you soon. Also, the boys will be spending spring break with their Gramma and Pops, so that should free up a little crafting time next week. We (or Jason rather) spent this evening finalizing vacation plans. We're going to the most magical place on earth! Jason went to Disney a few times as a kid, then we went on our honeymoon. I'm very excited to be taking the boys. Joey is 6 and has had several concerns about flying and Disney, but I think I've answered all his questions to his satisfaction. Anthony's ready to go see Mickey Mouse. I can't wait to see what Disney is like for a 3 year old. I'm not planning on the trip being perfect, but I do think it will be a lot of fun. We know a few people who will be there at the same time as us, so we will have to be on the lookout for them. I hear Jason on the phone with a friend right now discussing whether or not we should do the meal plan, so there are still several things left to plan for. We've got the flights and room taken care of, though, and those are the big items. I'm off to bed now. I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend. I love holidays because we get to spend time with family. I'm sure Joey will spend family time begging his uncles to have him some cousins or telling everyone he wants his momma to have triple boys so he can see what she looks like big as a hippopotamus. That boy is something else. Have a great weekend!

Cuttlebug Embossing Folders

Good evening yall. I've got a quick card (or 4) to share with you this evening. I'm in a swap on SCS where you send a card to each of the 5 others in your group each month from April through September or so. I made 4 of the cards last night. They are basically the same, but each one uses a different embossing folder for the background. The 5th one is with no embossing folder (cuz I forgot and glued it down), but I haven't finished it yet.
I think the 2nd and 3rd ones are my favorites. It's interesting to see how the embossing folders can make a card look different. I need to eat my dinner before it gets cold, so gotta go. Have a great evening!

Easter Etching with the Cricut

Hey yall. Just wanted to share the new glasses I made for Easter. They feature the "jackrabbit" from the Zooballoo cricut cartridge.

I had bought 2 bags of Starburst jelly beans to put in some glasses for Easter, but I finished eating them before I got the glasses made :(

I still am not happy with my picture-taking skills for these glasses, but I hope you can see the rabbit.

I also wanted to show yall one of the funny things me and Aunt Pat saw on Saturday. There are several things we saw that I cannot blog about since I have an audience, but this one I can share. We saw this car parked at Michael's. I used the spray can thingy in the paint program to conceal the license plate. I did it on the laptop, which explains how messy it is.

We drove around and Aunt Pat took some pictures. As we were doing that, some people came out of the store. Some older lady came and stood behind this vehicle and stared us down until we were out of sight. I'm guessing she's the one who parked like this. Hopefully she wasn't memorizing our license number!

One last thing--today is my Daddy's birthday! Here's a picture of him from Anthony's birthday party. Jason and I are having lunch with him today at his favorite Mexican place-Chili Verde.

I would tell you what I got him for his birthday, but

a) he might find out from someone who reads this, and

b) I don't actually have it yet even though I know what I'm getting him.

I hope your Tuesday is starting out great!

Pics from the Weekend

Hey yall. This is gonna be a long post so it may get split into several posts. First I've got some pictures from Joey's last soccer game. Here's Joey playing hard.

Here's a self portrait of me and Anthony watching the big game.

Next we've got Anthony admiring the armadillos at the zoo.

And here's Joey taking a break from looking at the monkeys.

Aunt Pat, James, and Anthony enjoyed watching the Laughing Kookaburra.

I also wanted to show yall what I made to help out with a baby shower at work. I used Lauren Meader's wonderful tutorial on how to use a circle punch to make a card look like a baby onsie. The mom-to-be is doing elephants in the baby's room. Since it's a boy, I gave the elephant a blue present.

I've got some more things to show you, but I'll put those in a post for tomorrow. Have a great evening!
